Carlynton Cougars James Johns makes sure to make his presence known. His ability to play running back, safety, and defensive end is remarkable. The talent to play on both sides of the ball and execute consistently will turn many heads, proving to be an opposing team’s nightmare.
The six-year-old loves the game of football; his favorite play call is when his head coach Brandon Griffin lets him blitz, so he has the chance to sack the opposing quarterback. While Johns picked up football in the summer of 2021, he’s already added some hardware to his trophy case; winning MVP for his outstanding performances every game. Johns loves stopping offenses from scoring, as he shows his true competitiveness by pressuring the QB, making sure no points are on the board. When it comes to offense, Johns scored a whopping nine touchdowns! Wherever number 25 is on the field, watch out.
Johns likes to improve when it comes to training, making defenders miss by juking or having quick feet. Los Angeles Rams Wide Receiver Odell Beckham Jr. and standout Cornerback Jalen Ramsey are his favorite players as he looks up to them for their big playability.
Off the field, he’s a star in the classroom; earning the star student award is something Johns takes pride in, anything to make himself a better player and student. The youngster has his dreams set ahead for him, as he’d love to attend the University of Georgia or Alabama. One day, he’d like to buy himself a big house and be the best person he can be. Johns believes he’s the best running back ever, and with that confidence, it wouldn’t be wise to doubt this young man.
