A fantastic puck moving defenceman, Seamus Lockhart makes a winning impact on both ends of the ice. A terrific skater, Lockhart moves down the ice in a flash, catching opposing defenses by surprise and can generate dangerous scoring chances for himself and his linemates. Lockhart's offensive ability is at a high level among defencemen in the 05’ class. Lockhart has a strong shot, able to bury the puck through traffic while walking the line, or up close and personal in front of the net. When Lockhart gets the opportunity to throw on the burners while handling the puck, he seizes it to the fullest capability. Lockhart is able to use his stellar hands to deke out goaltenders and register his name in the scoring column. Lockhart also uses his puck handling ability to control the puck and playmake for his linemates, as well as protect the puck well while moving up the ice in transition. Lockhart has a tremendous offensive ability but some of his biggest strengths are found in his defensive ability. Lockhart plays effectively in the defensive zone, taking care of his area and can move players off the puck with ease. Lockhart is developing quickly and continues to increase his draft stock as his game continues to evolve and mature. If Lockhart can continue to improve his game at his current pace there is no doubt he has the potential to develop into a talent to watch at the next level.
