Anselmo Rego is no stranger to finding the back of the net but, where he excels most is as a playmaker. He possesses a skilled shot with a quick release and enjoys the ability to shoot the puck. He does a excellent job controlling the puck on zone entries and likes to shoot it from far out to get pucks on net and hopefully create a scoring chance off of rebounds for his team. While he does possess a good shot, his playmaking abilities are probably his biggest strength. He also does not try to do too much on the ice which is definitely an upside of his game.

Rego is a creative playmaker who uses his quick hands and high hockey IQ to determine when it is best to make a move to create space for a play. In tight areas, Rego can make chances for himself and seemingly makes said chances out of nothing. He is a team-first player with the skill-set necessary to play in a variety of different roles per his coaches request. If need be he can be the finisher on a line or the set-up man. Rego’s hockey IQ helps him determine when he should stay back to help his defender out of the rush. He is a clear leader on the ice which is quite evident watching him play.
