Denver Gayer is not someone who forwards typically enjoy playing against. Gayer is a hard worker with a high-compete level. Coaches won't have to worry about Gayer not being involved as he is always dialled into the game. Gayer is a speedy defenceman who plays a defence-first game. The Vaughan Kings blue-liner is an aggressive player on the ice and challenges attackers, oftentimes making the first move. He bites on plays knowing that he is able to disrupt the puck carrier but also knows when he needs to stay back. He is always in the right position when the opposition is on the rush and oftentimes, he is the first defender that the puck carrier has to go through in order to create a scoring chance. Gayer is not one to shy away from the physical aspects of the game and is constantly bumping players around the net and engaging in board battles.
