One of the top defenseman prospects entering into the 2021 OHL Draft, Oliver Bonk has the potential to become an immediate impact player at the junior level. An incredibly intelligent player, Bonk always makes the right decisions on the ice. From where to move the puck, to positioning ability, Bonk is consistently able to find effective ways to make big plays for his team. Bonk does not care for flash and glamour, instead playing a strong, impactful, traditional game, limiting mistakes and putting his teams success before his own personal goals. Bonk never gives up on a play, giving 110% from the opening faceoff to the closing moments of the third period. With these great on-ice displays it translates into the locker room as well, a fantastic leader wherever he laces up his skates. Bonk has been described as captain material and is an incredible asset to his team, able to keep his teammates focused on the task at hand. Bonk is a vocal leader but he is also exceptional at leading by example. Bonk is offensively gifted, making huge plays down the stretch. Bonk plays above his level, ready and able to keep up with any competition put in his way. Bonk has an elite level shot, able to walk the blue line and fire strong and accurate shots on net. Bonk lives and breathes the game of hockey, making it his first priority everyday. Bonk puts in a considerable amount of time working on his game as well as keeping himself in top athletic shape. Bonk's unmatched passion for the sport has helped him develop the remarkably developed skill set he possesses today and shows no signs of slowing down. Sky is truly the limit for Bonk as far as his hockey career goes, Bonk has shown ample signs of promise and should come off the board early in this year's OHL Draft.
