Any team looking for a mobile offensive defenceman will definitely be taking a look at Paul Fischer. OHL teams will hope that he elects to play in Canada over going to the NCAA but are not holding their breath. Fischer is a strong and mobile defenceman with offensive upside. His skating abilities are a major aspect of his game and he has the potential to become an elite skater at the next level. Fischer can walk the blue line perfectly with his great edges and power. His skating technique is not something that can be easily taught. To complement his skating abilities on the offensive blue-line, Fischer has a quick wrist shot with surprising accuracy and can beat goaltenders cleanly from a distance. In his own zone, Fischer is aggressive defensively and will use his body to block shots and pin attackers along the boards.
