Every year he seems to get better is one of the greatest compliments to an athlete as it shows their dedication, hard work and will to succeed is paying off. This is a compliment echoed towards Alex Kostov’s game mentioned by many people around his league. This offensively gifted center has immense skill in the offensive zone but also plays a complete game throughout the ice. With the puck on his stick he has wonderful hands and vision which allows him to create high end scoring chances out of nothing, however his greatest offensive attribute is his heavy and accurate shot. He picks corners and hits the twine frequently. Without the puck offensively he battles hard on the forecheck and looks for openings to get ready for a pass. He backchecks as hard as he forechecks and often gets the puck back turning it around for odd man rushes. He never takes a shift off and when he’s in the defensive zone he’s working hard to block shooting and passing lanes. He will sacrifice his body to help his defenders out and battle hard in the dirty area’s to get it out of his zone. When he’s on the ice it’s easy to see that he minimizes opponent scoring chances. Due to his will to win, dedicated work ethic and natural raw skill it’s easy to see him transition to become a successful two-way dynamic center at the next level.
