Blake Richard is an attentive netminder that is able to maintain mental toughness and focus during high pressure situations. Blake is smart, so he is able to see and track the puck well and understand the game. Richard’s athleticism and mobility allow him to react to plays quickly and effectively, while keeping in communication with his teammates to help anticipate moves. As a smaller goalie, he may not be physically intimidating in the crease, but Richard uses his understanding of box control and precise positioning to get big to pucks and threaten attackers. Blake leverages his positive attitude and endurance to succeed in the net. Blake wants to become more patient and incorporate head trajectory on the ice so that he can continue to close on pucks. Richard battles hard, provides support for his team, and is committed to ongoing growth as he continues on his path of development, he should only continue to steer success.
