A young goaltending sensation coming from the US, Illinois born goaltender, Chase Hennessy, is entering his 6th season playing up at the AAA level. In the past, Hennessy has played with both Team Illinois and the Chicago Young Americans, before joining Milwaukee. Hennessy is highly focused on juniors, targeting both the USHL or OHL, though he has really taken a liking to the OHL, as he has worked with OHL coaches and scouts. Hennessy also takes great interest in how the goalies are developed in the OHL, and sees it as a great opportunity to further his career. Some of the best advice Hennessy has grown up with is to never play for the best team, so he tends to avoid joining stacked teams, as he likes to take a high amount of shots a night to help him improve more. Hennessy is a top notched student as well, maintaining a 5.6 out of 5.0 GPA in honours classes during his freshman high school year. Hennessy is an extremely athletic goalie, who is ultra competitive, extremely coachable, very positive, and really confident. He has a great skating ability, and is capable of anticipating plays and staying focused and concentrated. Hennessy is technically and positionally sound, and is also seen as a very vocal leader. Currently, he is working on his stick handling in order to become like a third defenseman for his team, helping move the puck down the ice. Away from the rink, Hennessy is very active, and focuses a lot on his nutrition and fitness. Henessy also backstopped his teams to two Illinois state championships, the Brick Tournament, and in the Tier 1 Elite league, was the 5th best goalie in the regular season with a 2.55 GAA and .920 SV%, which was then upped in the playoffs where he became the top goalie with a 1.50 GAA and .940 SV%, stopping 47/50 shots combined. Hennessy is looking like he could be one of the higher end goalies in the OHL draft for 2022, and should definitely get some looks from many teams.
