A two-way defender with high offensive talent, Félix St-Onge is a very ature player who is always working to get better. Starting in the offensive zone Félix stands out. Putting up 21 points (5 Goals-14 Assists) in a mere 27 games played in the regular season and 3 Goals, 4 Assists in just 5 playoff games, he excels under pressure. A majority of these points come from his one timer, something his team works on a lot in practice. He keeps the puck low and looks for it to bounce off opponents and teammates and keeps the puck deflectable and good for generating rebounds. When sent the puck for the one timer he never misses the puck and will always get the puck towards the net, getting the puck on goal more often than not. Félix will also cut to the slot when he sees the opening. Though his shot is great he also has wonderful passing. He sees the ice really well and finds open teammates down low for easy goals and is very aware when he has the puck. He is deceptive and can make passes when not looking where it's going just knowing his player is there and throwing off defenders. He quarterbacks his teams powerplay and uses the skills aforementioned to run set plays and develop high danger scoring chances. Félix uses his high hockey IQ to know when to pinch and when to stay back and can be an effective forechecker and backchecker when needed. His edgework is above average and so is his explosiveness however he is working on maintaining his top speed. Félix is great in his own zone, he will block shots when he needs to and is positionally sound. He gets the puck away from his net and supports his teammates throughout the zone while maintaining positioning on his man. He doesn hit a ton but rather uses his smarts to win puck battles and comes out with the puck. When he has the puck in his own zone he remains poised and looks for strong passes to the neutral zone. If he doesn’t see anything heĺl loop back around and wait for something to develop. He can and will sometimes lead the rush out of the zone when he feels confident and doesn give the puck up with poor turnovers. He is a big part of all his teams special teams playing powerplay as mentioned along with penalty kill unit 1 and overtime minutes. As he continues to develop Félix St-Onge looks to be an impactful two-way defender at the next level.
