Hunter Welk is a smart and controlled goaltender. Welk has strong awareness which allows him to have proper positioning and good rebound control. Already quite a big goalie, if he is able to continue improving on these strengths there is a lot of potential. Hunter has a dedicated attitude; he is able to maintain a positive energy in the net and take pride in remaining calm in high pressure situations. During this season, Hunter has been spending time in the gym to be in the best shape possible, he is also working to be more agile. With increased fitness and agility, Welk will be able to effortlessly make successful saves, making him solid in the crease and allow for a smooth transition into the OHL.
