Ja’Kobi Whitaker is a player who is a threat to any team’s offense and defense. The eight-year-old wide receiver/defensive back would be an asset to any team with his explosive speed and catching ability. As a wide receiver, who has been playing football since age four, loves to run comeback routes. Whitaker also enjoys making big hits while playing defensive back. His ability to play both sides of the ball so well at such a young age is remarkable and proves how good his vision of the field and the ball is.

Whitaker's skills on the field have caught the attention of youth football awards and garnered invitations to many combines to display his skills. He has won a super bowl, been league MVP twice and defensive player of the year. He has attended combines such as the Blue Chip All-American Combine and the Rising Stars Combine.

Whitaker is very dedicated to practicing and improving his skills. Doing ladder drills to improve his speed and footwork and practicing running routes are just a few of the many ways Whitaker trains to improve his game. His work ethic and his drive to constantly improve are some of the ways he has been able to take his game to the next level. He also has a great amount of football knowledge, noting that he can be asked any question about football and will most likely know the answer.

He currently plays for the New Braunfels Jr. Cougars, a program run out of Texas who focuses on teaching the fundamentals of football while using advanced techniques that most young players do not get exposed to until they are much older. The program also focuses on building good character traits and emphasizes getting good grades, as Whitaker takes very seriously. He is a straight A student in the classroom, consistently making the honor roll.

As for his future, Whitaker hopes to make it to Oklahoma University and play football for the Sooners. A goal that seems very achievable with his skills, dedication, and drive to compete and be better each day.
