Liam Doyle is a strong two-way defender that prides his game off toughness and hard work. He is not afraid to play physically or take a hit to make a play. Doyle enjoys grinding to win tough puck battles and block shots. In addition to his physical play, Liam uses his hockey sense to consistently make smart plays and crisp passes. He combines his intelligence with his high speed to effectively find skating lanes and break out into the offensive zone. This season Liam has been working hard to build his mental game so that he can make more efficient use of his energy. The pressure of having scouts can sometimes cause him to lose perspective, but he is learning that sometimes the simple play can be the better one to make. As he matures, his confidence should build and hopefully he can easily break this habit. Liam leads by example and can easily adapt his style of play depending on what’s necessary, giving him an advantage that will hopefully help him succeed in the OHL.
