At such a young age, Lyric Turner has shown an incredible amount of dedication to the game. He has made the best of the league stoppages and has put a lot of effort into growing his game to prepare for the upcoming season. Lyric has already shown strength to shoot pucks from a long distance at 9 years old, and he is always attentive and listening to the advice of his coaches. Going into his fifth season, Lyric plays on the Tier 2/3 Squirt team with the Backbay Indians and is more of a calm player who does not let his emotions get the best of him. In his spare time, he does dry land training in his garage to stay in shape, along with hockey camps and 3 on 3 hockey leagues in the spring and summer. Lyric also enjoys drawing, going on runs and rollerblading when he is not training. While he does not compare himself to any players, he looks up to NHLers like Brad Marchand and Sonny Milano as he hopes to improve his stick handling and one day play a similar style to them. While Lyric is more of an offensively focused player, he wants to become more of a leader for the team as he gets older. The work ethic Lyric exudes is an early positive sign to a strong long-term development. We will continue to see Lyric grow and hopefully one day make an impact in the hockey world.
