Having featured amongst the honourable mentions on the top 50 prospects list, Nate Brentnell is amongst the top forwards in the ETA when it comes to putting up points. Brentnell displays a complete 200 foot game, and is capable of disrupting and creating odd man rushes very easily. With his amazing defensive awareness and positioning, Brentnell can typically be seen staying low as a third man back to assist his defensemen. Brentnell also displays an high hockey IQ overall, and is capable of using this alongside his hard working mentality to run up goals and contribute to his heads up playmaking abilities. Brentnell uses these abilities to create scoring chances and other offensive opportunities for his game, while being a complete team player, who will take a hit to make a crucial play. Brentnell is a very competitive and ambitious young player, and has a huge focus on his time management. He likes to balance his academics and hockey as both are extremely important to him. With the 2022 OHL draft approaching, Brentnell is feeling confident about his ability to make it to the next level, and is very eager to learn and grow as both an individual and a player. To accomplish this, Brentnell is looking to improve on his speed, as well as getting physically stronger. Brentnell will likely go amongst the first few rounds of the draft, where he will come in as one of the teams top prospects. While it is difficult to project when he will make the OHL, Brentnell could challenge for a spot right after the draft, where he could slide in as a smart two-way player that the team can rely upon in every scenario.
