Brentnell also displays an high hockey IQ overall, and is capable of using this alongside his hard working mentality to run up goals and contribute to his heads up playmaking abilities. Brentnell uses these abilities to create scoring chances and other offensive opportunities for his game, while being a complete team player, who will take a hit to make a crucial play.
