Left showing winger, Nate Schaefer, is a new member of the Team Illinois squad this season. Schaefer is a very hard worker, and can often be found in the weight room, working out. Schaefer possesses a pretty sound offensive game, bringing a strong shot and a constantly improving duo of skating and endurance, which has landed him on the power play unit. Schaefer loves playing the body, and when he is fully engaged, he can be a total game changer and can make a real difference. Schaefer is a well liked player in the locker room, a good quality to have moving forward. As he progresses, Schaefer should continue doing what he has been doing and just keep improving on every aspect of his game. As he continues to grow, his physicality could become more and more game changing and if his skating continues to improve, he could be a pretty solid draft selection. OHL wise, Schaefer would develop into a winger for a team's left side, and depending on how he develops, could either play on a higher line, or serve as more of a grinder type of forward, using his size to bully the opposition in the corners. Only time will tell.
