Nicholas Kempf is the top goalie for the Chicago Mission, and one of the top goalies coming out of the US for the 2022 OHL draft. Kempf displays solid rebound control and is capable of killing a play right off the first shot, if it is so required. He is a very confident goaltender who knows his strength, and will push hard. Kempf has been known to push his team in practice, and is seen as a player who outcompetes everyone else. This ultra competitive attitude is contagious in the dressing room, and thus helps the team as well. He is very consistent, and a very well rounded goalie. The thing Kempf could work on more is taking things one step at a time. Kempf would greatly benefit from trying to stick to the now, instead of straying and thinking about what might happen later in the game. Kempf is more reserved and very focused on and off the ice, and doesn’t tend to let much distract him. Kempf is certainly a goalie that many teams would want in their pool, and could see himself rising in stock for goalies as he continues to develop good habits, and weed out the ever so minor flaws in his game.
