A confident player that has no trouble backing it up. Nolan Ling is showing signs of promise as his game continuously evolves. Ling plays incredibly hard, making tough checks and gritty plays regularly in order to put his team in position to win. Ling has unwavering confidence in himself when the puck is on his stick, able to make big plays regularly in a variety of situations. Ling is an offensive, puck moving defenceman, always looking to push the puck in transition and find ways to create scoring opportunities for his linemates. Ling is incredibly mobile, a fantastic skater that can move around the ice well and uses this to his advantage by positioning himself well within both the offensive and defensive zones. Ling moves the puck well in the offensive zone well, able to find the open man with ease after drawing ample attention from the defence. Ling has tremendous upside, with clear cut skills in every area of the game, Ling can make game winning plays for his team anywhere on the ice. As Ling continues to grow physically his stock will closely follow as he will only become increasingly dangerous on the ice. If he continues his hard work ethic and dedication to the game, we could be seeing Nolan Ling lighting up scoreboards across the province in just a matter of time.
