A textbook forward, Tomislav Brennan has an old school playstyle that he utilizes to great success. Brennan has an incredible hockey IQ, able to read plays with ease and make effective plays on and off the puck. With his high hockey IQ his playmaking skills are solid as he is able to control the tempo of the game right from puck drop. Brennan excels in the physical aspects of the game. Brennan plays hard on the check and is equipped to make plays on defense with his stick checking and fantastic positioning. Brennan is one of the most well developed two-way forwards in this year's draft on the defensive end but his offensive game needs to be improved. His skills in the offensive zone are mediocre, Brennan does not possess any offensive ability that jumps out at scouts which as a forward is not acceptable. Brennan has ample time to grow as a player, but his time is winding short as his career continues to advance. Brennan has loads of potential through his defensive prowess, if he is able to find a way to be as effective on offence as he is on defense, he could grow into a special player.
