Tristan Fournier is an exciting and versatile defenseman with advanced knowledge of the game. Tristan has played hockey for four years and has been a defenseman for the past 1 ½ years. He has special playmaking ability. Tristan sports strong edgework and has a quick hand, making him a threat to score at any time. One part of his game he wants to improve is scoring around the net. Tristan models his play after Cale Makar, a defenseman on the Colorado Avalanche. Tristan admires Makar’s high-level edgework and creativity with the puck, traits that Tristan has either already developed for a player his age or that are within reach for the young defenseman. One of the few ways Tristan differs from Makar is Tristan’s number, 29, which he wears because his dad donned the number when he played. Tristan’s goal is to play in the NHL, specifically for the Avalanche. To complement his skill set, Tristan is the ultimate team player; he will line up anywhere on the ice if it will help his team win. Tristan trains six days a week, utilizing a high volume of off-ice training to maximize his on-ice sessions. Tristan was captain of his team last year, has a sharp hockey IQ and strives for high marks in school. While Tristan has big goals for his hockey career, one of his favorite aspects of the sport is making new friends.
