Small and energetic, goaltender Zach Gaul, is electric. Despite his smaller stature, Gaul’s play has helped him step in to form a 1A 1B tandem on the team. Gaul is an extremely hard worker, and has a very high compete level as well. Gaul has even shown the ability to take on a 5 on 0 scenario in practice, and has topped at nothing to keep the puck out of the net. Gaul plays with a lot of energy and is extremely athletic, which helps make up for his small size. Gaul is also described as a great teammate. Overall, Gaul has been overlooked, because of his height, which is understandable, however he shouldn't be completely ignored because of that. Gaul could easily join the likes of someone like Dustin Wolf as a small goalie who is capable of sticking around and playing well. While it’s not certain what could happen to Gaul, it will really depend on how he plays and if he grows. For now, it’s business as usual though, as Gaul will just be able to play and practice, and hopefully get a team who decides to take a chance on him at the 2022 OHL draft.
