One of the best all-around prospects in not only the ETA, but the 2021 OHL Draft Class, Aidan Carolan is an outstanding talent. Carolan is a fantastic defensive player, Carolan is strong on the puck as well as has a great sense of where he needs to be off the puck to generate turnover opportunities or prevent passes into high danger zones in his own zone. Carolan is ferocious on the puck and is as physical a player as they come. Carolan embraces contact and more often than not can be found dishing out hard checks amidst the course of the game. Carolan's intensity to apply pressure on the puck stems from his need to score the puck. An incredible scorer, Carolan excels at taking the puck hard to the net and is able to use his strength and speed to drive through defenses and crush shots past the netminder as a result. Carolan has great hands which makes it nearly impossible to take the puck away from him when it's on the end of his stick, as well as allows him to make crafty moves when attacking the net. Carolan skates at a high level, able to glide down the ice at great speeds while maintaining solid poise, control, and balance. Carolan fits the build of a power forward, able to move the puck at a great pace and make plays for his linemates, all while being a dangerous scoring threat himself. Carolan's strengths do not just stop on the ice, they extend off of it as well. Carolan is an amazing leader for his team, a hard worker with a positive attitude. Carolan is strong on the faceoff dot, able to make effective plays off the draw and has the strength to tie up with even the strongest of centremen. With his versatile skill set and innate ability to read the game, Carolan is without a doubt a top forward in the 2021 OHL Draft and will be a phenomenal acquisition for a club at the next level.
