A complete 200 foot player who plays harder than most, Aiden Randell certainly has the tool kit to make it far.. Randell wears the A for his team, and is more of a quiet, lead by example guy, who will do whatever he is told no questions asked. Randell is the type of player who will completely buy into a system, which makes him stand out from some of the more flashy players available. Offensively, Randell is an amazing skater and has an excellent hockey sense, but his biggest standout is his shot. Randell has a very strong shot with a quick release, and will typically line up at the top of the circle, where he serves as a trigger point on the power play. The only issue is you actually have to get him the puck for him to actually be able to get it off, because not passing him the puck will only result in a lost chance. Randell is known to be an unselfish player with good vision, and will likely look to make a play when the chance presents itself. Randell also displays an amazing defensive ability, where he is great at angling the opponents away with his body and stick work. Randell has been working most on his play along the boards, as well as battling more in the dirty areas, aspects of the game that he tries to enter in a very calculated manner. With the 2022 OHL draft approaching, expect Randell to be drafted somewhere in the middle rounds, where after a few years of development in U18 and Junior A or B, he could really become a big part of an OHL squad, where he can step in as a reliable player who can play in any situation.
