Aram Minnetian is one of the top players in his age group. Should he commit to playing in the OHL, he would likely be one of the first names taken off the board but as an American player, he will likely be selected in the 2nd or 3rd round due to the uncertainty of him coming to play in the league. If he does decide to come to Ontario, Minnetian could become one of the league's top players.
Aram Minnetian is one of the few players who excels at playing two positions. Last season he played on the blue-line with Mid Fairfield Rangers while simultaneously transitioning to forward as a freshman at Bergen Catholic High in the USHS Prep school league. As a forward Minnetian did not skip a beat emerging as a dynamic offensive presence. He is a deadly offensive force regardless of which position he is playing. At 6’0, 170 lbs, Minnetian is already a big kid and will only continue to get stronger as he transitions to the level level.
His goal-scoring abilities are at the top of his age-group, especially as a defenceman. He can score with pin-point accuracy from the blue-line and is even deadlier in the slot. He possesses smooth hands and can beat goalies with slick moves. His deadly accuracy stretches past his shot as Minnetian is extremely as accurate as a playmaker as well.
His skating is smooth and deceptive and another area of the game in which the New Jersey product excels at. He possesses blazing fast speed along with a great technique that is well above his age group. When Minnetian is on the ice it is always noticeable and is usually the best player at both ends of the ice. Not only is he considered to be a top prospect at this level but he is already considered to be a likely 1st round pick at the 2023 NHL Entry Draft. The biggest question surrounding his future is whether teams will put Aram Minnetian at forward or defence at the next level.
