A prospect packed with upside, Avery Grant has the tools and the build required to become a fantastic player at the next level. A high-end stay at home defenceman, Grant has incredible skills to protect his own end, as well as generate offence for his team. Grant excels at moving the puck, able to make a fantastic first pass, as well as able to move the puck well in the offensive zone. Grant has solid skating ability and is able to bring the puck up in transition but thrives at holding the puck and walking the blue line rather than pushing the puck deep into the corners to generate offence for his team. Grant's strongest asset comes in the form of his shot. Grant has a bullet that he unleashes often throughout the course of a game, able to register his name on the scoreboard with relative ease. Grant's ability to create on the offensive end is coupled with his cut throat playstyle on defence, able to use his size to wreak havoc on opposing players bringing the puck into his zone. Grant is a hard worker, actively making strides to improve his athletic ability as well as his skill set on the ice. With a high motor, natural ability, and size, Grant is poised to make a name for himself as his hockey career advances.
