A solid offensive defenseman, Richmond Hill captain Braden Childerhose has flown under the radar when it comes to the 2022 OHL draft prospects. Childerhose presents a very calm presence when under pressure, and is also praised for his high hockey IQ and his amazing skating ability. Childerhose also serves as a very important leader for his team both on and off the ice, and is an extremely competitive, social, easy going, and academically inclined person. Childerhose has also been credited as someone who will constantly try to be the hardest working player on the ice at all times. His strengths have really helped him compare to someone like Morgan Rielly due to being a key member of his team in both zones thanks to his ability to set up plays and create scoring opportunities for himself or his teammates. With the draft looming ever so closer, Childerhose is feeling hopeful, and sees the draft as the true beginning to his hockey career. He believes he is ready to take the step up to the next level, and is excited to play with and against stronger, older, and more experienced players. Childerhose is currently working on his confidence along the blue line, his ability to jump up into the rush in order to create more opportunities, and his physical game. By developing his game further, Childerhose could become a staple member of his draft teams power play unit, where he can help contribute to a lot of the teams scoring, similar to this current year, where he led his team in defensive scoring with 21 points in 31 regular season games, and 7 points in 7 playoff games.
