A brick wall on the ice, Bradley Gardner is one of, if not the most physically imposing forward in the 05’ draft class. Gardner is extremely strong and has hockey roots coursing through his veins and it shows every time he steps on the ice. Gardner plays the game the right way, a smart and well polished player, Gardner is rarely found in inopportune circumstances. Gardner is the prototypical 200-foot player, able to make an impact on every area of the game. Gardner is exceptional on the special team units, both killing and running power plays. Gardner uses his size and speed well to work on the forecheck when killing penalties, causing a plethora of turnovers as a result. When on the powerplay, Gardner leads the offence and moves the puck around well, making clean tape-to-tape passes when searching for the perfect opportunity to cash in on the man advantage. Gardner has an amazing hockey IQ, able to diagnose a defence weakness and capitalize on it. Gardner on top of being a great on-ice player is a phenomenal leader off of it. Gardner is a strong leader for his York Simcoe squad and is a consummate team player, making ample plays that make his linemates better. Gardner is a complete player and has a work ethic that you just can’t teach. Gardner has a bright future ahead of him and has the potential to play well at the next level.
