Now accepting applications for roles in Sports Media, Sports Marketing, Event Management and Journalism.

A player who plays every shift at an elite level, Charlie Cerrato plays the game similarly to that of Matthew Barzal. A great skater with separational speed and the ability to break away from multiple defenders with the puck and come away with a scoring chance. He’s a smooth skater with quick strides and the ability to change his direction quickly and on sharp angles. Every time he steps foot onto the ice, he plays at a high-end level.

His puck-handling abilities result in highlight reel plays every game. His confidence in his abilities with the puck on his stick are quite clear but he does not bite off more than he can chew. If he sees that a particular move is not going to work, he is quickly able to identify what the best course of action is. I have seen him attempt the Michigan move but before moving the puck in the air, using it as a move to confuse his opponents and create space to pass the puck out. His foresight, vision, and intelligence with the puck on his stick makes him such an exciting player to watch. He plays a fast paced game which overall makes him a tough player to face off against. Everything he does on the ice, he can do with speed which is an aspect of his game that will be beneficial at higher levels.

His abilities to beat defenders in foot races result in Cerrato getting his fair share of breakaway opportunities. When going in alone against a goaltender, Cerrato has no shortage of moves at his disposal. He tends to favour going 5-hole and is able to do so without goaltenders being able to read him. Playing for Honeybaked in the HPHL, Cerrato is not expected to play in the OHL but if he does elect to play hockey in Canada, he will have no shortage of suitors.
