A first year AAA goalie, Dante Bertolin absolutely demolished expectations. Since the start of the season, Bertolin has amassed a total GAA between regular season play and tournaments of a 1.15, amazing numbers given his tenure at the level. Bertolin has an extremely calm and poised mentality in the net, which allows him to maintain very sound positioning and gives him the opportunity to make the saves he has to. Bertolin has been on his way to becoming more of a leader on the ice, and knows that during the high speed game, communication with his teammates is key. Off the ice, Bertolin is more of a quieter guy, but once he gets to know someone, he tends to be more outgoing, and is kind to everyone. Bertolin tends to compare himself to Matt Murray during his Penguins days, due to his more explosive and athletic style, coupled with a calm and collected demeanor. This is helped by the fact that Bertolin was able to follow Murray thanks to his great uncle actually being a coach for Murray back in the day. Bertolin feels comfortable about the draft, and is in excellent shape, coming off some of the best hockey of his young career. Bertolin is working more on his ability to play the puck further, and has made strides so far with it. While Bertolin may be overlooked and seen as a risky choice due to being a first year guy, he believes that if a team gives him a chance, he could be a worthy addition within a season or two.
