Finn Harding is a reliable, 2-way defender who plays best in his own zone. As someone who may not be the biggest defender, Harding does not let his size impact his game. Harding has proven that he can go up against players that are bigger. Harding has a good defensive stick and does a good job disrupting plays by taking away their possession of the puck. Although he does not always get the puck back for himself, Harding is good at preventing dangerous scoring opportunities and shifting momentum. Harding is at his best when going 1v1. He is not an easy player to deke around and even if he is beat by an initial move, he uses his body and stick to make it difficult for his opponents to regain control of the puck. The Toronto Junior Canadiens defender also has great control of the puck. While he does not attempt overly complex moves, it is not easy to knock the puck off of his stick when he’s rushing to the offensive zone.

To advance to the next level, Harding does have some areas that he can further develop. While his skating is not a weakness of his game, adding additional speed would be very beneficial. Previously, Harding was typically beaten when a faster player gets to the puck first. In the offensive zone, Harding does need to improve his shot as he has a solid presence on the blue-line and is always available to pass the puck . Focusing on improving his shot power and accuracy would further refine his skills and are necessary next steps to advance to the next level.
