Jacob Carroll is a big, skilled center playing with the Vaughan Kings. Since moving to the GTHL, Carroll instantly became one of the league's most noteworthy players. Carroll plays a well-rounded game highlighted by a great shot with a quick release that can catch goaltenders off guard. The Vaughan Kings forward has creativity and confidence above the average level of his age group and is no stranger to attempting creative passing plays and finding new ways to create scoring chances. He possesses high-end puck control and stick-handling abilities which enables him to weave through an entire team before getting a shot on goal. In addition to his strong offensive skill-set, he is a big presence on the ice and uses his size to his advantage with his physical play. He is highly effective along the boards and likes to lay out his opponents with big hits. He is a big player for his age but he does not lack any mobility. He moves quickly and can change his direction in an instant. Carroll uses his quick feet and power to go end-to-end by himself to create scoring chances. Defenders have a tough time knocking the puck away from Carroll as there is almost no chance of outmuscling him. His size and strength aids in his defensive game as well. The Kings center is a reliable presence in his own zone and is the player you want taking defensive zone faceoffs. In addition to his skills on the ice, his impact off the ice is quite noticeable as well. Carroll is a natural leader in the locker room which coaches caught onto quickly resulting in Carroll having served as one of the league's 12 captains. Overall, Carroll has all of the tools necessary to make the jump to the OHL and should adjust very quickly.
