The prototypical power forward, Johannes Kalm has a lucrative skill set with incredible potential. Kalm has a great mind for the game, able to read the ice and make smart plays in order to generate scoring chances. Kalm is a gifted playmaker, easily able to find linemates with clean, on the mark passes. Kalm is a powerful skater, able to blow through contact and crash the net with force. Kalm is a strong finisher around the net, with quick, smooth hands, he has no problem finishing in tight situations. Kalm has a phenomenal shot, able to send the puck lasering past goaltenders in a flash. Kalm is comfortable shooting from a variety of areas on the ice. With Kalm's shooting strengths one drawback in his shot is he does not currently possess a quick release to his shot. Aside from this one weakness, Kalm's shot does not lack power regardless of his slow trigger. Kalm is a physically imposing player, able to play strong defensively, using his size to staple opposing players against the glass, as well as being able to push past defenders while bringing the puck up the ice. Moving forward Kalm is deserving of more attention, he has the build and the skills to become a fantastic player in the future. If Kalm continues to progress at his current rate, there is no doubt that he could become a top offensive talent at the next level.
