One of the defensemen who attended the GTHL Top Prospects game, Kashawn Aitcheson is certainly a player to keep your eyes on as the 2022 OHL draft comes closer. Aitcheson is a more offensively minded player overall, and tends to compare himself to Rangers defenseman Adam Fox. This is due to his more versatile and speedy game style, however he also takes advantage of his physical strength, muscling guys away when they come looking for the puck. Due to his more offensive nature, it may be smarter for Aitcheson to just stick with what he does best as he develops further, sticking more to developing his offensive skills more. However, working more on his defensive game could serve him well too, as it would allow him to become even more dominant all around, and it would allow him to log even more minutes in the OHL. With the draft coming up, Aitcheson will likely go within the first few rounds, where he could really benefit from another year of development to further increase his skill and put on a bit more weight as well, which would help the strength side of his game even more.
