Perhaps the winningest name in the entire GTHL, Luc Malkhassian is a proven winner. He is seemingly a good luck charm judging by his numerous accolades. The Toronto Jr. Canadiens forward has won it all. His most team achievements include: 3 x Kraft Cup first place winner, 5 x GTHL Finals in six years, 2 x GTHL league championships, OHF championship, and 2 x silver sticks championships.
When you watch Malkhassian it makes sense why his shelf is filled with trophies. Malkhassian is a speedy skilled forward with high-end skills which are put on display every time he steps off the bench. In his bag of tricks, is a lethal wrist shot and quick hands. While he is a strong team player and is by no means selfish with the puck, Malkhassian has the abilities to go in alone and deke his way through defenders before burying the puck in the back of the net. Malkhassian has the speed necessary to create space for himself and create high danger scoring chances. When going in alone against a goaltender, his soft hands don’t even give goaltenders a chance to see the puck come off of his stick. Malkhassian’s backhand shot is also very effective and accurate. His puck-control on the backhand as well as his shot is hard to read and his ability to switch between his backhand and forehand seamlessly white skating at top speed is at a high-end level.
Malkhassian has scored more than his fair share of highlight-reel goals but he is also the type of player who can find success in front of the net. He has good hand-eye coordination to deflect pucks in front of the net and is always ready to tap in the puck. He is a great finisher and is an overall reliable presence in front of the net.
