Primed to go first overall in the 2022 OHL draft, exceptional status, Michael Misa is fresh off breaking Connor McDavid’s OHL Cup points record, recording 20 over the course of the tournament. Misa, who is a natural centreman, compares himself most to the likes of Mitch Marner, thanks to his high speed, smart, and creative play style. Misa also was able to become the first ever player to record a hat trick during the tournament's championship final, adding them up to a 10 goal performance. Misa displays a very reliable 200 foot game, which allowed him to become a highly valuable part of his team this past season, and will be able to translate this further in the OHL next season. Misa is a team player in every right, and has made comments shifting praise towards his teammates after the championship win. Misa brings a knack for being able to score as well, having led the OHL cup in shots, goals, assists, and points, as well as an impressive 16 goals and 43 points in27 games during the GTHL regular season. The dynamic 2007 born forward had previously been toying with the idea of attending Shattuck St. Mary’s Prep school, but since receiving the exceptional status, he is now working on processing the fact that he will be in the OHL next year. While Misa is the complete offensive package, he will need to look at bulking up before the 2022/23 season, with him now playing with 18-20 year old men, who will be even more bigger and meaner than what he has played with thus far. Outside of this, Misa has the potential to live up to the likes of former OHL exceptional status players like Connor McDavid, John Tavares, and Shane Wright, while also joining the club with Aaron Ekblad and Sean Day. The future is incredibly bright for Misa, as well as the team that lands the first overall pick.
