One of the larger goalies in the coming 2022 OHL draft, Noah Bender has his eyes set on major junior. Coming off a season that saw Bender putting up a 1.78 GAA between the regular season and tournaments, his numbers are some of the best that the draft has to offer. Bender’s play has also seen him land a spot on the GOJHLs Kitchener-Waterloo Siskins, and while he has never taken to the crease, it is still quite the accomplishment for a U16 goalie. Similar to his idol, Carey Price, Bender is a very calm goalie, who shows off a very strong skating ability and positioning, and takes his pre game preparation extremely seriously as he believes that is what allows him to achieve his success. Bender also admires how Price is someone who likes to give back to the community, making him someone that a PR team would love to have around. Bender is a very calm person both on and off the ice, and is very confident in his abilities and is very hard working in both practice and in games, making him a player that gives his own teammates an extra boost of confidence. Bender is excited for the draft, and is looking forward to joining some of his teammates on draft day. He understands the work that must go in to make the next level, and is currently working in order to make that jump, especially with the ability to see the play and potential situations unfolding. If one thing is for certain, expect to see Bender’s name on a jersey, as he could be the future of your favourite team's crease.
