RIGHT DEFENSE
BARRIE ZONE AAA COLTS
Easily one of the best overall prospects in the 2021 OHL Draft, Noah Cochrane could become an immediate impact player at the next level. Cochrane, one of, if not the best player in the ETA can control the tempo of a game in a number of ways. Cochrane is a mature and a well developed athlete, playing a year up last season as a member of the 04’ Minor Midget Barrie Zone AAA Colts. Cochrane is a phenomenal puck mover, especially for a defenseman, fitting the modern game perfectly. Cochrane uses his superb puck moving skill to generate offence for himself as well as his teammates consistently throughout the game. Cochrane is able push the puck with ample success due to his amazing skating ability. Cochranes skating ability makes him a threat everywhere on the ice and allows him to make high impact plays whether it is scoring or playmaking. Cochrane has fantastic hands, able to handle the puck and limit turnovers. Cochrane has a real passion for playing physically, taking pride in his ability to mix it up, battling for the puck. Cochranes physicality is second to none among 05’ prospects, able to use his raw athleticism and size to push players off the puck as well as blow past those who stand on the trolley tracks in front of him. Cochrane is encouraged to improve on his discipline in regards to his physicality, but has steadily improved in that realm over the past few seasons. For such a physically gifted player, Cochrane is still quite evasive. Able to use his skating ability to move past opposing players while maintaining puck control. Cochrane has a great sense of where he needs to be on the ice to make a heads up play and get past the opposition. Cochrane is a complete two-way player, able to cover all 200 feet of the ice on each shift. The sky's the limit for the young Barrie defenseman as Cochranes upside is top of the line. Cochrane has the build, the skill, and the drive to become an elite player at the next level and it is only a matter of time before he puts it on full display.
