A versatile prospect, Nolan Drury plays the game of hockey the right way and has the potential to become a special player. Drury excels on special teams, able to move the puck well with the man advantage as well as is a strong force on the forecheck able to apply a tremendous amount of pressure on puck carriers. Drury is tough as nails, no stranger to physical contact, always ready to make a big hit or fight for the puck. Drury’s knack for the grittiness of the game showcases his dedication and strong mentality for the game. Not just a terror physically, Drury has legitimate skill when the puck is on the end of his stick. Drury has a great ability to push the puck and generate offence in the offensive zone. Drury is strong at handling the puck deep in the offensive end, able to walk the line smoothly with patience. Drury has slick hands, able to handle the puck well even in tough situations. Drury is a great playmaker, by using his high hockey IQ he is able to direct traffic and run the offence in order to find the best shot possible. Drury has a great first pass, able to move the puck well out of his own end. While he is a strong all-around player, Drury does have work to do in some areas. Drury needs to improve his positioning ability, as he can often be caught out of position leading to odd-man rushes. Drury also needs to find a way to improve his skating as currently it is not to the level it needs to be in order to succeed at the next level. While he certainly has the tools and potential to become a tremendous player going forward, with a few improvements made. Nolan Drury could become a serviceable player for any OHL Organization in the future.
