Being named the NOHA player of the year, Nolan Newton is amongst the top forwards available for the 2022 OHL draft. Newton is known for his motor, being able to maintain a high energy game, keeping his feet going and always staying in the action. Newton describes himself as a fast, playmaking centre, who is capable of being thrown out in any situation and has the ability to score, similar to Mat Barzal. Newton portrays amazing on ice vision and hockey sense, and utilizes it well, as he potted 14 goals and 22 assists for 36 points in 27 regular season, U18 games. Newton is constantly looking to improve, through work with shooting the puck and trying to get on the ice whenever he can. Again, this helped Newton become one of the top NOHA players as an underager in the U18 level. With the OHL draft approaching, Newton has been working out a lot, which will help him a lot as he could really benefit from bulking up further. At the OHL level, Newton could slide in as a high speed, playmaking centreman, who can put up a lot of points in his respective teams top 6. The future is bright for Newton, who could be a crucial member of a team's playoff hopes.
