Right shooting defenseman, Aiden Renaud, is one of the biggest defensive threats in the SCTA. He has always been a top player for his team, and is currently their number one defenseman. He is a great skater with a long stride and is great in both zones. Defensively he’s solid, playing a very smart game and doing really well at breaking the puck out, however his biggest strength is his offensive play. Renaud has been known to come up big for his team, whether it’s jumping into the rush, or leading it himself. Renaud loves to have the puck on his stick and shooting the puck, which works well because he packs a very heavy shot. Renaud is also great at making it very hard to play against him, as he will not hesitate to make a physical play to keep the opponents on their heels. Because he is so threatening on the back end, Renaud is also featured on the first Power Play unit for the Highlanders. Reanud also wears the A for his team, and is a very vocal leader that tries to keep it very light in the dressing room, but come game time, he is extremely serious. Renaud is very coachable and loves the game. He has also been known to push his team in practice and on the ice to be the best that they can possibly be, regardless of how good or how strong they are. Renaud is a defenseman that every team should be watching, as he could be drafted in the higher rounds and could really be a great two way defender for whoever chooses him. For now though, Renaud simply needs to improve his game further on all fronts before he takes his game to the next level.
