Serving as the captain for the Highlanders, Aiden Stanely brings a great attitude and could be a solid pickup in the 2022 OHL draft. Despite not being a highly skilled player like many of the forwards, Stanley makes up for it in his IQ and defensive tendencies. Currently, Stanley is one of the longest-tenured Highlanders, and is someone who shows up for every game or practice, and works hard in both, making him someone who can definitely lead by example. Despite already standing at 6’0, Stanley is expected to tack on an extra few inches as he gets older, which could help him up his stock a bit. Stanley is a very defensive-minded player, who is not only good on his skates but has also stepped up to be the team's leading scorer. Stanley has an exceptional IQ away from the puck and is great at getting into passing lanes, and can be seen hanging back as the third man back in the offensive zone. Stanley is a player who continues to get better every game, which could serve as a benefit for him as he nears the OHL draft. Overall, Stanley likely goes in the mid to later rounds of the draft, where he could develop into a bottom 6 player for an OHL club, serving as a good PK player that can help to shut down the top players in the league.
