Right shooting forward, Antoine Gauthier, is quite a tenacious player. With above average skating and insanely fast in straight line skating, Gauthier is an amazing player to run in a dump and chase scenario. This stubborn player has tons of skill, and plays a rather annoying game (think someone like Ilya Mikheyev). Despite his great talent, Gauthier would benefit from working on his decision making at the blue lines, where he can sometimes be seen trying to split the defensemen and getting caught, creating a turnover. Gauthier is also encouraged to work on his team play, as he still plays a bit of a younger game, where he tends to stay as more of an individual. Regardless, Gauthier could be a very promising player to look at for the 2022 OHL draft, especially if he works on his decision making and teamwork. In the OHL, Gauthier could be a very promising young player, who can use his great speed and relentless tenacity to create pressure in the offensive zone, as well as using it to break out and burn his opponents up the wing. Every team lives a high skill player who plays with heart and tenacity, which could get Gauthier many looks as the draft approaches, and rightly so, because he could prove to be a solid acquisition somewhere down the line.
