Rocking a 58.6% in the faceoff circle in the OHL cup, winning 41/70 draws, Antonio Cerqua definitely can use this to push himself to the next level. Over the course of the tournament, Cerqua was able to net 1 goal and 6 assists for 7 total points in a 6 game span for the Majors. Cerqua packs good speed, which he has been able to utilize on a few occasions to break through the D and cause an odd man rush, which he can couple with his puck skills to deke out the goalie. Cerqua is also very good at using his body to protect the puck, while stick handling to constantly keep it moving. Cerqua also has the ability to shift between centre and wing, making him a more versatile forward that can be deployed in a number of different ways. Cerqua also wears an A for the majors, indicating that he has the capacity to serve as a leader on and off the ice, making him a more alluring pick to bring in. While Cerqua has a tremendous skillset, which could help him go around the higher rounds, he will likely need some additional development time to continue bulking up, as he is still amongst the smaller end of available players. Once he has done that, he could slot into the OHL as a C/W, who can come in and win big faceoffs, and use play to log big minutes.
