A massive winger, Ben Vreugenhil was not always a forward, but in fact was once a defenseman. These defensive tendencies can still be seen in his game, as he is a guy who can be trusted to go out in all situations, whether on the special teams or during crunch time. Vreugdenhil is capable of doing all the little things properly, making him someone that can be leaned on a lot. Vreugdenhil displays a complete 200 foot game overall, and in the offensive zone is typically found floating around the net front area. This helps him compare to someone like former NHL star Dave Andreychuk, one of the highest scoring wingers of all time. Vreugdenhil has a very quiet personality, but he also has a no questions asked mentality, you ask him to do something once and that’s exactly what he’ll do. Vreugdenhil is still improving his all around game, with a big focus on his skating, a normal area for improvement when compared to other young players his size. With the 2022 OHL draft approaching, Vreugdenhil could likely go in the middle rounds of the draft, where he could step into the OHL within a couple seasons, serving as a strong net front guy that can hammer home greasy goals while putting up a massive screen. Vreugdenhil would obviously be a defensive staple for his team as well.
