Rolling with an impressive 3 shutouts on the season, Brayden Randell is primed to join his Hurricanes teammates on OHL draft night. Randell has been a crucial member on the back end of the team, serving as the teams above average backup, and would likely be a starter on most of the other teams no question. Randell is both very fast and very focused in his net, two very important qualities to have in a goalie. Randell also displays an amazing glove, being able to snag shots left and right. Due to his smaller size, Randell relies heavily on his speed as well as his technical positioning, keeping him up to speed with the other goaltenders in the league. Randell is seen as a good teammate, and is the kind of guy that everyone can get along with. Randell has been encouraged to further work on his puck handling ability, which would help him turn defense into offense and make him an even more reliable goalie. With the 2022 OHL draft approaching, expect to see Randell amongst the drafted goalies, though he may be among the later goalies due to his height and more limited scope compared to some of the other top goalies available. Regardless, Randell could really develop to be one of the better goalie prospects in the OHL very soon.
