A highly skilled forward who competes very hard, Braydon McCallum is looking forward to following in his older brother's footsteps, right into the OHL. The Dehli, Ontario born skater is one of the team leaders in points this season, and it’s not just because he’s playing with the other top players, he’s simply that good. McCallum is a speedy playmaker, who has the natural ability to make the players around him better. McCallum has also developed to be a bit of a pest on the ice, and is more than capable of laying a good hit and playing the body to knock his opponent away from the puck. McCallum best compares to the likes of Robert Thomas or Joel Farabee, being a highly skilled player that can provide physical backup when needed. McCallum brings a very energetic and humorous personality to the room, but when he is on the ice he is completely dialed in and plays for the logo on the front of the jersey. McCallum is featured on both PP1 and PK1 for Brantford, making him a highly important player for his squad. McCallum is currently working on his ability to maintain a level head throughout the game, allowing him to resort from crossing the line and taking a stupid penalty. As for the 2022 OHL draft, McCallum feels confident about his chances of being drafted, and has been guided along by his brother Landon in regard to his preparation, and he feels he could be able to step into the OHL right away. At the OHL level, McCallum could very well develop to be similar to someone like Robert Thomas, and could be a staple on the team's offensive core. Time will tell, but it will be exciting to see what McCallum can do, and it will surely be exciting to see a bit of family rivalry or team work.
