Brenden McKay is a physical defender. Brenden is a capable defensive player that enjoys joining the rush when necessary. He is able to skate well and make big hits to protect the puck and his zone. Brenden is working daily to improve his puck handling skills to become a more complete player. He is also working to get a better first pass out of his end so that he can start the rush. However, where Brenden lacks in breakouts, he can make up for it with his physicality. As McKay will continue to broaden and strengthen his skillset, he should shape up to be a strong defenseman in the OHL.
