A defenseman who has potentially fallen through the cracks for most teams, Carson Albert is everything you would want in a reliable defenseman. Albert is largely overshadowed by a star studded lineup in Brantford, and while it would be amazing to see him rush the puck more, when one has a talented offensive lineup in front of them, there isn’t really a reason to do it as much. Albert has amazing skating, with a strong stride and amazing edges, while also showing an amazing ability to walk the line. Albert is also a guy who can maintain very good gap control when faced with other players, while being able to make that ever so crucial first pass, which again, makes him the ideal defenseman to have on the roster. Albert wears an A for his club as well, showing that he does have the foundations of a leadership guy in the room as well. Overall, Albert is a defenseman that probably should go higher than he will, but due to his smaller frame and less flashy nature, will likely slip to the middle rounds of the draft. This should not be a deterrent however, as Albert should still be able to take a run at an OHL position in the future.
