A smaller forward, left shooting forward Carson McGurn, has the ability to be a very promising goal scorer in the future. McGurn, as mentioned, is a smaller end player, however he is a bit thicker than most players his size and has a lot of lower body strength. McGurn is very strong on the puck, and he is a finisher, a natural goal scorer. He is a very tenacious young forward who can take feedback and immediately translate it to his game in the following shift. The biggest thing for him to work on would be his consistency, as well as his intensity, which aren’t always prevalent in his game. Despite the slight issue of his consistency, McGurn should not be completely overlooked at the draft. He could be a great asset to bring into a club, and could be a nice complimentary piece that can provide some support and depth scoring. While it is simply too soon to know when McGurn could go, he could see himself going somewhere in the middle rounds, where eventually he will be at a point where he can’t be passed up on. Until then, it's the same old story for McGurn, as he continues to grow and improve on his game while the 2022 OHL game approaches.
