Wearing an A for the Wildcats, right shooting Carter Jones leads by example, through his hardwork and competitiveness. Jones is a speedy winger who has spent time at center as well. With his speed, Jones utilizes his incredible shot to blast a puck home past the defender, which has helped him step in as the teams top scorer. There is no doubt in Jones’ drive to be better everyday, as he is a player that routinely shows up for every game or practice. Jones has been encouraged to take advantage of his great speed, using it to take the puck wide and to the net, instead of having to battle his way through multiple players. This will come with confidence, and once Jones is able to find that confidence in his speed, he will become an absolute menace along the boards. Keep in mind, Jones is still young, so the confidence could definitely come with age as well, which could possibly be lined up perfectly with his OHL career. With the 2022 OHL draft coming up, there isn’t a doubt that Jones has the tools to become a proper OHL player. High speeds, a booming shot? Seems like a match made in heaven. Regardless, expect to see Jones go in the mid to later rounds, as some teams could see him as more of a project player. But, getting drafted low has never stopped someone from making it to the next level before, so Jones definitely will have a good shot at making it to the next level, where he could be deployed as a speedy, scoring winger.
